FOUNDER

RODRIGO GUTIERREZ

Corialent

12 years ago, Rodrigo decided that the Coca Colas of the world shouldn’t be the only ones who get to have all the fun in the advertising industry. He was sick of all the dull, corporate, navy blue and white B2B work out there. Business people are people too. Corialent specializes in B2B marketing that doesn’t suck. And they want to get the rest of the industry drinking that delicious KoolAid.

Understanding Others

Understanding Others. The ability to understand others comes with practice. If you want to learn how to listen effectively, how to interact with people, how to understand yourself and others, then you have to take the time to practice. Even the most confident people are afraid of speaking in public or of being embarrassed.

You cannot build your confidence until you know and understand yourself and others. In order to learn how to understand others and how to control your emotions, you have to work on your emotions too. For instance, if you are having a conversation with a person who makes you feel uneasy, then you should feel some apprehension about talking to them because you may feel that you are not sure that you are comfortable with them. This uneasiness is an indicator that you are not able to work on your natural empathy. You need to be able to feel your emotions before you talk, otherwise your conversations will always be uneasy.

Personal development training will teach you to feel your emotions before you speak so that you can better understand others' feelings and thoughts. By building up your self-awareness, you can also become a more compassionate person. Being compassionate does not mean that you will try to be a nice person. You may sometimes make others feel bad, but you do not have to intentionally do this. Your self-awareness will help you choose the right actions based on what your internal understanding of others tells you.

Self-awareness also helps you to develop your ability to listen effectively. Without self-awareness, you will quickly become distracted by your own needs. As a result, you will not be able to fully grasp the full meaning or importance of what others are saying. As a result, you may miss an important clue from what they are saying and thereby missing out on opportunities to improve your understanding of others and their emotions. On the other hand, by becoming skilled at listening effectively you will also be better able to understand others' feelings and thoughts.

The other skills you learn through Self-Empowerment include increased intellectual functioning, better problem solving skills, improved creativity and improved interpersonal relationships. By learning how to tap into your own mind's power, you can use it to overcome negative emotions that you feel. For instance, when you feel angry you typically think about what you are doing that is causing the anger. But by learning how to tap into your mind power you can start controlling your anger instead of simply focusing on the anger you feel. When you start controlling your anger, you will then be able to redirect your thoughts away from harmful behaviors and toward more positive ones.

Empathy is closely related to self-empowerment. If you want to understand another person, you must be able to feel their emotions. We only experience our emotions in the face of another human being. When you help someone else, the experience is two-way and not one-way. By helping someone else you also help yourself because you get the opportunity to experience their emotions. Thus, becoming a better person begins with feeling empathy.

Self-Empowerment also includes the ability to control your emotions and be in control of your thought processes. People who are good at managing their emotions can be quite successful in their personal, business and nonprofit lives. By managing your emotions you can make choices that are in your best interest rather than those that benefit someone else. By managing your emotions you can be in charge of your own future by making the right decisions. In addition to having good emotion control skills you will also find that you feel happier, less stressed and have more energy.

How does all of this relate to understanding others feelings and how you can master them? By having good emotion control skills you will be able to understand why someone does something you don't agree with or they may intentionally do something you find bad. If you can manage to change the way you react to the situation you have created by your reaction to the situation, you will be able to change the outcome. Empathy is one of the most powerful skills you can learn. It is a two-way street and if you are able to manage your emotions and increase your empathy you will be able to affect how you treat others.
